Circa 1950's FRENCH PERSONAL ORGANIZER - SIMILAR TO A FILOFAX TYPE WALLET I WAS LED TO BELIEVE THIS WAS CIRCA 1950's BUT I HAVE FOUND OUT IT MAY POSSIBLY BE CIRCA 1920/30 - AT LEAST BEFORE THE 2nd WORLD WAR AS CERTIFIED BY A LOCAL ANTIQUE DEALER. This French version of the Filofax represents local history. It was made in Paris for a local shop owner. On the clasp is the name of the manufacturer and inside is stamped the owners name and town. The
notebook is riveted in place so you know it is the original one - it
hasn't been used and changed at all. The front and back pages have been
written on but the rest of the booklet appears untouched. The pages were edged in gold leaf which is beginning to fade through much handling. Saying
that - the wallet appears to have been handled a lot and is showing
signs of wear and tear but the inside seems to have had little or no
use. Perhaps it really was just a status symbol.
