Here is a very Pretty jade pendent of a pair of fish , which I believe are Carp. The Chinese character for fish (yu 鱼) is pronounced the same as the Chinese character for surplus (yu 余), the fish symbol is frequently used to symbolize the wish for more in the sense of good luck, good fortune, long life, children, etc.
The Chinese particularly like to fashion charms using the carp fish as the model because the Chinese character for carp (li 鲤) is pronounced the same as the character (li 利) for "profit". So and three Carp lucky Charm - perhaps the circle of life and much luck to the owner
Jade is difficult to age - I believe this is early to mid 20th Century
Please note this pendent will be supplied to the Winning bidder in a silver plated Round pendent holder to keep the pendent and other trinkets in The silver plated holder has a red velvet fitted lining and a Floral Top in the Art Nouveau style . This is also Boxed too - so a nice little packge Jade Pendent and a Silver Plated pendent holder
